Summary of Wordle and Wordle Highlights

The "Wordle" game, created by Brooklyn-based software engineer Josh Wardle and released in the January 2021, quickly surged in global popularity by craneing its way from just 91 players in November 2021 to over 2 million by January 2022. Its success was even reported by The New York Times, making it a phenomenon that captivated both brands and enthusiasts alike.

Wordle, a puzzle game where players guess a secret five-letter word within six tries, features color-coded feedback: green for correct letters in the right position, yellow for correct letters in the wrong position, and gray for letters not present in the word. Wardle explained the game’s balance by noting that the number of letters (five) and attempts (six) meet a satisfying challenge for players, tempered by the potential to occasionally achieve solvability.

One expert in applied linguistics, Erhan Aslan from the University of Reading in the UK, provided useful advice for Wordle players during a 2019 interview. He suggested starting with words that include commonly used vowels like "e," "a," consonants like "r" and "t," and sound sequences to improve word choice. Aslan also mentioned avoiding words starting with "q," "z," "j," or "x" to reduce feedback gaps after initial guesses.

If you’re clueless about Wordle, these hints will guide you:

  • Hint 1: If you’re wearing black tie, think of " Influential Sound."
  • Hint 2: The word might be a shower product brand, and "Per辉" fits.
  • Hint 3: It could describe James Bond films, such as The Collection.
  • Hint 4: The secret starts with a consonant.
  • Hint 5: The answer contains three vowels, including " scorer."

Finally, Wordle’s Sunday puzzle for February 16, 2022, was revealed to be "Suave," adding to the series’ которых. If you’re off the hook, the game resets at your time zone.
