Vietnam Airlines has launched a new direct service between Hanoi (HAN) and Cebu (CEB). The route expands the airline’s international network and improves links between Vietnam and Southeast Asia, offering passengers easier access to key leisure destinations.
The inaugural flight, VN643, operated by an Airbus A321, carried around 100 passengers. It departed Noi Bai International Airport at 22:50 on 2 December and arrived at Cebu International Airport at 03:30 local time on 3 December. Vietnam Airlines marked the launch with welcome activities at both airports and gifts for passengers on the first flight.
This service is the airline’s first direct connection between Vietnam’s capital and one of the Philippines’ leading tourism centres. Cebu is known for its island scenery, cultural heritage, and range of activities, including beaches, water sports, dining, and outdoor experiences, making it a popular choice for leisure travel.
Flights from Hanoi to Cebu will operate every Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday. Return services from Cebu to Hanoi will run every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The direct flight time is about three hours, reducing overall travel time and simplifying journeys between the two cities.
The route supports travel from Vietnam to Cebu and also makes it easier for visitors from the Philippines to reach Hanoi. The city is known for its food culture and serves as a gateway to destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, and Sapa.
Dang Anh Tuan, Executive Vice President of Vietnam Airlines, said: “The Hanoi to Cebu service represents more than just a new route. It strengthens cultural and economic connections between Vietnam and the region, creating new opportunities for travel and collaboration. Vietnam Airlines is dedicated to providing safe, and high-quality services that promote tourism and foster closer ties between the two countries.”
The new Hanoi–Cebu service supports Vietnam Airlines’ plan to grow its international presence, with a focus on Southeast Asia. The route is expected to support tourism, trade, and cultural exchange between Vietnam and the Philippines, while contributing to wider regional aviation growth.
