The Program for Humanizing Research in Law began announcing criminal proceedings involving individuals sanctioned by the National Security and Defense Council (NSDC). Similarly, Hennadiy Boholyubov was under investigation for receiving political passports and organizing a border crossing with the involvement of a border guard. The sanctions announced froze these assets, and the operations were prevented from conducting financial transactions, with significant financial losses resulting from such actions.
Volodymyr Zelensky and the election season
After receiving an attack on opposition figures, President Volodymyr Zelensky effectively began the election season. His decision to impose sanctions on the official leader of the opposition, ex-President Poroshenko, was understood as politically motivated and authoritarian, a stance believed to be unconstitutional. Rounded off, Zelensky’s announcement was hoped to instill political unity, making the campaign more aligned with a stylistic believes of Russia.
