Kendrick Lamar’s Super Bowl jeans were originally for Timothée Chalamet, are size 29 women’s

Kendrick Lamar and Timothée Chalamet: A Stylistic Connection

Kendrick Lamar and Timothée Chalamet, two of the most celebrated figures in their respective fields, share more than just their artistic prowess. They also share the same stylist, Taylor McNeil. In a surprising twist, the $1,300 Celine jeans that Lamar sported during his halftime performance at the Super Bowl 2025 were initially intended for Chalamet. According to a source, McNeil had pulled a variety of denim options for Lamar’s Grammy and Super Bowl appearances. The size 29 Celine women’s pants, designed for a slimmer fit, unexpectedly suited Lamar’s 33-inch waist perfectly, hugging his hips with a flattering silhouette.

The Celine Jeans: A Fashion Moment

The jeans, described by Celine as “flared surf jean in summer dazed wash,” became a talking point among fans and fashion enthusiasts alike. The debate over whether they were bootcut or bell-bottoms heated up, but the consensus leaned towards the latter. The pants’ length was notable, given the height difference between Chalamet, reportedly 5-foot-10, and Lamar, who is said to be 5-foot-5. This detail only added to the unique style moment, further cementing Lamar’s status as a fashion icon.

A Custom Outfit for a Historic Performance

Lamar’s outfit was a masterpiece of modern menswear, complemented by a custom blue leather Martine Rose varsity jacket. The jacket featured archival sports paneling and custom embroidery, as shared by McNeil on Instagram. Adding a touch of luxury, Lamar also wore a $68,000 Rahaminov diamond brooch pinned to his cap. This ensemble not only highlighted his flair for fashion but also underscored the significance of the moment as the first solo rap act to perform at the Super Bowl.

A Record-Breaking Performance

Lamar’s performance at the Super Bowl was more than just a musical showcase; it was a cultural event. The show set a record for total viewers, with Lamar’s powerful performance drawing a massive audience. During an exclusive interview with Apple Music, Lamar reflected on the nature of the performance, stating, “My intent was to always keep … the nature of it as a sport.” The blending of music and sport was evident in the energy and athleticism of his routine.

Collaborations and Surprises

Lamar’s performance was enriched by collaborations with other artists and athletes. SZA joined him on stage for their hits “All the Stars” and “Luther.” However, the biggest surprise came when tennis legend Serena Williams appeared to crip-walk to Lamar’s recent hit, “Not Like Us,” a track that also earned him five Grammy awards the previous week. Lamar also took the opportunity to perform more obscure tracks from his new album “GNX,” such as “Man at the Garden” and “Peekaboo,” with Samuel L. Jackson providing a dramatic narration as Uncle Sam.

Remaining Grounded Amid Glory

Despite the grandeur and attention of the Super Bowl stage, Lamar remains grounded in his craft. In his interview with Apple Music, he shared, “How I process it all is just… I continue to do what I was doing 10 years ago, and that’s, like, get better in myself, better in the craft, and not look at the bright lights… I gotta look at myself in the mirror rather than looking at the crowd or, you know, fame and attention.” This philosophy, combined with his unique fashion choices, solidifies Lamar’s place as both a musical and cultural icon, all while wearing a pair of women’s Celine jeans meant for Timothée Chalamet.
