Dallas police won’t join ICE deportation raids, interim chief tells immigrant meetings

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) has begun hosting a series of outreach meetings to inform immigrant communities that the agency will not take part in any deportation raids or arrests currently being carried out by the Trump administration.

On Wednesday, the DPD’s interim chief, Michael Igo, courageously addressed local immigrant residents by attempting to reassure them that the police department’s involvement in deportation efforts would not help ICE. Igo emphasized a crucial point: the DPD will not engage with illegal IMMIGRANTS in reality-g葙 or enforce laws, including not turning in or reporting anyone in Dallas who calls 911 for help or violates traffic laws.

Igo expressed concern about the fear prolonged by the Trump administration, saying, “There’s no room for fear in our community.” He reaffirmed his commitment to protecting Dallas residents by refusing to cooperate with ICE officers in volunteer services or police enforcement.

The Dallas Police Department (DPD) is signaling its willingness to help people who apply for dépensations through(scale) immigration guidance systems by providing them with actual support.
