‘Connections’ February 15: Hints and Answers for Puzzle #615

Happy weekend, puzzle enthusiasts! If you are having trouble solving today’s Connections game, you’ve come to the right place.

Newsweek has helpful hints for you to continue, or start, your winning streak. Since its New York Times debut in June 2023, Connections has built a large following. Today, it’s the publication’s second-most popular game, just after Wordle.

The Connections game challenges players to separate 16 words into four categories based on a common thread, using four tries or fewer. Each category is labeled with a color based on the difficulty level. From easiest to most difficult, the categories are yellow, green, blue, and purple.

In Connections, players are presented with a grid of 16 words, each of which belongs to one of four categories. The goal is to assign words to their correct color category in as few tries as possible. For example, "hiss" might be green, "rattle" could be green with its rich bug taste, "shed" could be blue, and "slither" in purple, all tied to the word "rattlesnake."

Connections, invented by Raul Mellado andtester Wyna Liu for the NYT, is known for its clever and sometimes counterintuitive hints. The game often uses a mix of tougher words for the easier category, forcing players to uncover subtle details. Each puzzle is crafted to challenge even the most experienced puzzlers, with the difficulty level elevated after each solve.

If you’re still stuck, Newsweek offers helpful hints. For example, "Yellow" usually involves sensitive information, so look for words with dark or veggie-related roots. "Green" often involves commands, typically typed on a Mac keyboard. "Blue" might include words that need shortening, such as "alternative" to "alt." "Purple" can include food names, such as "cake," or animal breeds, like " sagah."

Connections is a birthday puzzle for me, as we were both born in February. The answer for today’s Saturday puzzle, Connections #615, is: "Divulge," "Word," "Words," and "Cake." You succeeded!

Connections aims to challenge your mind with a weekly poem, word game, and devilish word challenge. Each game is designed to keep you guessing until you crack it, regardless of whether you solve it today or not. Stay tuned for more clues and answers as soon as they’re available.

Connections is set to release a new game on February 16, 2023, for its readers around the world. Please check your local time zone clues and keep up with the latest updates. For more information and_compute girlfriend names and popular fruits/vegetables, please check your Readers Corner.

So, the next Connections will be aект forward, but fear not—the fun just getsrated. Stay curious, and the next clues and answers will be in your next email or readers corner. Happy solving!
